HEMRUMÖRK is a large 1200 hectares rural property located in Skaftarhreppur South Iceland. About 680 hectares are defined as separate estate and around 1000 hectares are in 50/50 joint ownership with neighbouring property Herma. Almost all of the land is grassy, partly brushy with hills, ravines, rocks, streams and waterfalls. Along Tungufljot River is a very beautiful brushy land that could be ideal for summer cottages. The eastern land boundaries are Tungufljot River that has very diverse landscape, waterfalls and rapids. There is a decent road that lies to the property. The Icelandic Road Administration is responsible for the road maintenance. The property is in 240 km distance from Reykjavík and it takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes to drive to Hermumörk. One residence of good quality is on the property. It was built in 1992 and is 107 m2. This is a wooden house on a molten foundation and with molten floor plate. The architect for the residence was Hrobjartur Hrobjartsson and the house was built by Klakkur Construction Company in Vik. Since the residence has a turf roof it is especially heavily built with laminated carrying beams and iron carrying pillars. The house is heated with electrical radiators and there is a fireplace in the living room. From the hall next to the main entrance is an entrance to a guest room and a guest bathroom with a shower. The house has an open plan, with a living room, dining room and kitchen that is separated with a high table. Spacious master bedroom with closets and a separated bathroom with a shower and a bathtub are in the house. From the kitchen is access to a spacious storage room furnished with shelving, closets, table and a sink. In the storage room is also 300 l water heating tank and exit to the outside. The floor in the hall, bathrooms and storage rooms are laid with tiles.Other parts of the house has hard wood floor. Very large septic tank is connected to the house. The residence is beautifully situated on a hill and has beautiful view from all rooms. The house has a timber patio with windbreak and lot of trees that surround the house. One lamppost is by the car parking.

A summer house ca. 35 m2 is on the property. The summer house was built in 1983 and in the year 2000 a sunroom was added to the house. The summer house has a hall with storage shelves and open area with, living room, dining room/sunroom and a kitchen. In the open space there is a studio couch. One sleeping room with 4 bunk beds and a bathroom with a shower are in the summer house. The house is heated with electricity and a fire place. This house has 80 l water heating tank. Small timber patios are around the summerhouse as well as a lot of trees.
